Master Practitioner Classical Feng Shui Consulting, LLC |
Julie Tarney has broad experience in both residential and commercial Feng Shui assessments. She applies authentic Feng Shui principles strategically, analyzing risk and providing counsel on the optimum timing and location for personal and business activities. Classical Feng Shui Consulting, the New York City-based firm Julie launched in mid 2003, has a national client base that includes large and small retail operations, professional services firms, health care providers, architects and homeowners. She works with many of her clients on annual planning and consults as well on independent building projects, from major remodeling to new construction.
Julie first studied the ancient mathematical discipline of Feng Shui with the Yap Cheng Hai Feng Shui Center of Excellence in Malaysia, receiving a diploma in Feng Shui Mastery from the Center in September 2003. Looking for a way to continue her education and gain more practical experience, Julie approached Master Angel de Para who was a professional trainer and the U.S. representative of the Center (which has since closed its doors). De Para also had established his own Feng Shui consulting business, Earth Luck International (http://www.earthluck.org), in Miami. The firm is recognized throughout the Americas and Asia, with de Para providing consultative services to both multi-national business enterprises and high-profile individuals. Julie began attending de Para’s graduate-level practitioner courses in November 2003.
Julie has continued to develop her Feng Shui assessment skills while running her own consulting business. She travels to Miami four times a year for private instruction with de Para, and attends an annual private group course led by him. In addition, she became the first member of Earth Luck International’s executive team in 2005, assisting de Para with business development.
Julie’s drive to master the practice of Feng Shui reflects her earlier career as a successful marketing executive. From 1984 to 1999, she was president of the public relations division of Laughlin/Constable Inc., one of the largest marketing communications agencies in Wisconsin with offices in Milwaukee and Chicago. Julie led the growth of the PR division from a one-person shop to a staff of 28 and nearly $3 million in revenues, with a client roster that ranged from children’s clothing manufacturer OshKosh B’Gosh to McDonald’s to Harley-Davidson. Julie also served on Laughlin/Constable’s executive committee and was instrumental in developing the agency’s five-year business plan. In 1999, Julie transitioned to a new role, heading the agency’s new business development efforts through 2001.
In the non-profit sector, Julie served on the marketing committee of the Milwaukee Ballet Company and volunteers weekly at Gilda’s Club of Southeastern Wisconsin, a free, cancer-support community. She is a past chairman of Prevent Blindness Wisconsin.
